Women weren’t seen as criminals, it was said the males were the only ones that can be criminals because of the aggression and angry. Insanity was gendered as deviant women, while criminals was gendered as deviant men (Davis, 66). Even though, there were categorized by gender they were also categorized by race, white women were punished by saying they were insane and place in a psychiatric institution, while women of color and poor women were treated as criminals and sent to prison as their punishments.

The term fallen women are someone that has committed a crime, but cannot be reformed nor saved (Davis, 70). The media plays or runs story that people in society would be comfortable with, the show crime, politics, celebrity news, and much more; but they never talked about the people beliefs being challenged because no one wants to hear that (Barak, 273). If people would want to see the truth of what is happening in the world, then they would challenge the media to get actual facts instead of what corporation pay to show.

I agree with you post, women are seen as less than men. Women have been seen that they can’t not committed criminal and the only time the commit crime is when the murder their husband for abuse (Davis, 76). Even though, women have shown that they are deviant and can commit crime, the same way a man can they are still seen as less.
