I assumed that because it was an event about books, that she was going to advertise her books by explaining what it was about and stating that we should buy her books. Yet, that's not what happened. The event was more of an interview, asking questions about her life, what she likes, and what she has experienced in her life. The two things that stood out to me the most was: what her playlist would be if she had a social gathering at her house, and why she doesn't like the idea of people touching her hair. She says that if she had a social gathering, she would play SZA, Anita Baker, and other artists. She said that she would have Beyoncé at her gathering, so it would be disrespectful to play her music. These artists are looked as legends within the entertainment and music industry. On the other hand, she lets everyone know that she is sensitive about her hair. Her mother used to make her cut her hair to keep up with her appearance. One can assume that it took her a long time to grow her hair back out.
