Most children who go away to summer camps come from cities and suffer from “nature deficit disorder” to the narrow experience of modern indoor life. Reinhardt Academy was established in 1883 in Waleksa, Georgia, but didn’t officially have its first classes until 1884 when it was opened as a grammar school. Captain Augustus M. Reinhardt and his brother-in-law Lieutenant-Colonel John J. A. Sharp shared a law practice together, and wanted to open the college as a memorial to Reinhardt’s father. There were no college aged kids in the area at the time so the school commenced at a wood shop and served as a high school. The school became Reinhardt Normal College in 1890, and then officially became Reinhardt College in 1911. It wasn’t until 2010 that the school became Reinhardt University, the name it currently holds.…

The top three colleges I chose are Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University, and Alcorn State University . Hinds is my first choice because I visited Hinds’ Nursing Allied Health Center on one of my various CDC field trips and I was amazed. I was shown how to be prepared for CPR, how to read the blood pressure machine, and just learn about all the programs they have to offer. I actually did plenty of .research on nursing and I think Hinds is just the place for me .…

    Year Round School Essay

    • 6 Pages

Arguments on the merit of the implementation of year round schooling in the American public school system arose in the early 1900s, but have grown in complexity with time. In contemporary society, there are several factors affecting the decision of instituting a year round school schedule in place of a traditional school schedule, including its effects on the students, their parents, and the administrators. However, in order to determine the true value of instituting one of the many options for year round calendars, the American nation as a whole must consider the effect of the transition on the American economy. Such factors include the effect of the transition between calendars on the energy costs necessary to keep a school running, student ability to obtain employment, and costs of constructing new schools and additions onto already standing schools to avoid…

The connection with nature and the environment offers a peaceful, calm, and relaxing to escape stress, feel greater happiness and support the mental health for children. Play in a natural environment was frequently identified when asked where children where the associated feeling of being relaxed, calm, and comfortable. Similarly Louv (2010) described nature as an environment which calmed and focused yet delivered excitement to the senses. Nature is a place where we can outlet the emotions within and it provides a release for the mind. The presence of “Trees, naturalized habitats, and gardens offer benefits for many dimensions of children’s well-being” (Chawla, 2015, p. 446) and these advantages should provoke greater thought and influence the development of the outdoor environment in child care…

For the reactive flash volatilization (RFV) process based on the knowledge that the catalyst bed is preheated to high temperature, pyrolysis of the heated cellulose particles on the surface of the bed is expected to be fast enough that it will not be a rate-limiting step. Hence, the kinetics of the RFV of cellulose reduces to gasification of the produced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on and in the catalyst bed. To represent the RFV of the VOCs from flash pyrolysis of cellulose, Aspen Plus has been used as the primary modelling tool. The main advantage of using Aspen Plus is that it dramatically reduces the time required for compilation and critical evaluation of properties of reaction components which underlie difficulties in process model development.…
