Fall Concert Essay

The Fall Concert took place at Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School on October 13, 2016 for the grand reopening of the auditorium that was renovated during the summer. Concert Choir, Liturgical Choir, Concert Band, Eagle Pride, Phoenix, and Vega performed on this brand new stage to celebrate this wonderful event and it would become one of the most important events in the history of CJ. Since I am a member of the Concert Choir, I was really lucky to participate in the Fall Concert and saw that first glance of the new auditorium. It is really beautiful and I believe that it really represents CJ as a whole in the Dayton area and all those who support CJ. On the night of the concert, we performed five pieces as a group including the “United …show more content…
Even though that did not affect the general performance of the group, I felt really sorry for my blunder. But despite this, I think I did a wonderful job in singing my own part for each musical piece and pronounced all of my vowels really well. Since I really hope that I will not make the same mistakes at the next concert, I will practice more on counting the rhythmic elements, practice my breathing so that I can be able to breathe as how the music was written, and take any notes that help me to memorize the way that the piece needs to be sing. And as for the entire Concert Choir, I believe there are a lot of ways that the ensemble can improve for the next concert. For example, we can practice more on our vowel sounds and articulation for each music piece, get a taste of the rhythm for the performing pieces, study more about the difference between a mezzo-forte and a forte, and focus more on the individual parts since some of us accidentally sang the melody at the concert. I hope that practice can create perfection so that we might not have the same mistakes for the next

Concert Etiquette When attending a musical performance, there are different sets of rules that accompany certain types of concerts. Most of the time these rules are unspoken and typically general knowledge, with the exception of classical music concerts where pamphlets may be given out or picked up ahead of time. That being said, there are many limitations of how one should conduct his or herself at a performance. During a classical music concert, the general principle is to be polite and good mannered as to properly accompany the style of music. Dress code isn’t entirely formal, but a good guide as to what you should or should not wear might be what you would wear to work or out to dinner with friends.…

Jazz History Concert Report II For my final concert writing critique, I decided to attend the live Ball State Student Jazz Combos on Tuesday, November 8; this event took place in Choral Hall inside of the university’s Music Instruction Building. The wooden hall was smaller than I thought it would have been, but it gave the concert setting a more intimate feel. There were three groups presenting that day, each under a different director. Because each group did not have a specific name, I had to label them based on the order in which they performed.…

On Sunday, June 21st, I went to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra perform “The Music of John Williams and Hollywood’s Great Composers” at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. The concert was held in the church’s worship room at 6:30pm. This was a great place for the DSO to perform because the audience and the orchestra were very close and, in a way, felt more personal. The show included fourteen pieces: “Overture to Captain Blood by Korngold, ‘Tara’ – A Short Poem for Orchestra from Gone with the Wind by Steiner, arr.…

The event that I decided to go was BYU Baroque Ensemble, a production made by BYU students, taking place at Madsen Recital Hall Harris Fine Arts Center on November 3. The idea of making a baroque orchestra is where musician get together to make a perfect composition of music, the baroque orchestra is made up mostly of stringed instruments, when you listen you feel something different that makes you see it from another perspective, you just can’t stop listening and focus on every note that the musicians are playing. The type of instruments that were utilized in conjunction were the basso continuo, played by a viol, cello or bassoon. Other parts were added between the melody and the bass by a keyboard instrument, usually a harpsichord or organ and the development of tonal harmony, in which the melodic voices movement remains under the functional chord progression.…

On May 9, 2015, Garvey’s Advanced Band and Mustang Choir went to the Trills and Thrills Festival at Burbank Middle School. We had to be at school by 7:15 AM since it was our call time, and that was way too early for me since I usually sleep at 12 AM. I was in Advanced Band and I played the clarinet. Of course I was excited to play at the competition, but I was also nervous since we were going to Six Flags afterwards and I had a huge fear of heights.…
