Falcon Field Advertising Analysis

Falcon Field, This historic part of Arizona was built in Mesa in 1941 with many factors contributing to its construction (Arizona Aircraft Wrecks). The Construction of Falcon Field started with Mesa’s Major George N. Goodman talking with local military officers and saying that construction of this airfield would cost the city of Mesa $50000 dollars to build (BREAK GROUND). While at Falcon Field there would be a large building housing the kitchen and the mess hall, and to the right of it was the control tower for the military airport (FALCON FIELD). Furthermore, Falcon Field would be built on 720 acres of land donated by the city of Mesa- which was already funding it (BREAK GROUND). Falcon Field would also have many “carpenter and plasters” …show more content…
The people of Mesa changed when the Royal Air Force Pilots came. One example is the advertisement built specifically for them. One advertisement said, “Welcome RAF! Make the friendly Apache fountain you meeting place in Mesa”(Advertisement directed). Further advertisement for Fall weather clothing said “R.A.F have come to Mesa!... Coats... $12.95 - $29.95”(Advertisement directed). These advertisements show that the shopkeepers of Mesa made specific advertisements to the Royal Air Force pilots to gain more profits. Furthermore, The intake of “Four Thousand Officers and Men” will put a “Tremendous load” on the city of Mesa to deal with (Unbounded Confusion). One way they dealt with it where people were asked to house Royal Air Force cadets, “Want British Boy As Guest?”(Want British Boy) having British military officials stay at other people’s houses like this shows the community that was created by having Falcon Field built-in Mesa. The population of Mesa also changed, in the 1930’s before the war, Mesa had only 3,711 people during the 1940’s that number soared to 7,224 a 94.7% increase in population (FactFinder). The population increased because of the new military base in Mesa- Falcon Field. The postal service also increased over time because of the increased population, “Postal Rush Grows” according to Mesa Journal-Tribune Newspaper(POSTAL RUSH). This growth in the postal service is …show more content…
Problems that did occur were the validation of the year Falcon Field was built. Many sources said different dates but after heavy research, the date it was built was in 1941. The sources were a mix of both Primary and secondary sources. Some sources had a biased view but none had it to an extent that bogged down the searching machine that was finding the data. When searching for everyone’s perspective it was hard to find it. Almost all views were in the positive for Falcon Field and the Royal Air Force cadets. There was little to no arguments against the pilots or the Airfield. This, of course, is not true there are always people who are against a certain idea but finding that information was not successful and could not be found. Groups that had little to no information on was the Pima Indians that worked for the airfield. It is seen in a photograph that they did work there but any other information on them could not be found. There was a lack of information on the Royal Air Force numbers. when finding out information about their lives is easy, but how many were trained during one year or the other cannot be found. How fast did it take for the army to train these cadets? How many pilots came through the doors of Falcon Field to become pilots? the number questions on exact people could not be found. In addition to this, there was not a lack of reliable sources. Some had

Super Bowl advertisements are famous for their elaborate productions and are often are more talked about than the event itself. These commercials have become cultural touchstones, but the advertisements have one job and that is to convince a potential customer to buy or use a company’s product or service. The Weight Watchers advertisement is a perfect example of how effective advertisements can be in only a few short seconds. What this commercial is really selling underneath its veneer of supposed helpfulness is emotional manipulation as it preys on people’s insecurities regarding their weight and shame them for eating food that may not be considered healthy. The primary audience for this kind of ad are people who emotionally vulnerable and…

Unfortunately, the East Bay began to document villages starting only 5,000 years from today, therefore no one actually knows how many village sites stood on the park’s grounds. The park became open to the public in 1967 because it became more obvious to the public that certain regions such as Coyote Hills had to be preserved in order to be able to embrace its nature in its natural state. Most regional parks give communities a chance to come together and learn from the land’s history and wildlife, as well as teaches individuals to embrace the world around them without the distractions of modern day…

There has been much controversy with having monuments in which represent, or even are to look back on our history. Some people seem to believe that monuments, statues and even some memorials should have no real sentiment. Others disagree and believe monuments, statues, etc are there for us to have remembrance, and are for us to pay our respects to our history. In addition to this, there is also many memorial parks that are and have been made in order to have as a memorial, which very much needs respect as would any other kind of memorial.…

The term bombs away is used when an air pilot announces to his crew that it is time to drop the bomb. This term is perfect for the book Bombs Away: The Story of a Bomber Team by John Steinbeck. In the book, Steinbeck attempts to expose the American public to the lives of Air Force bombing squads, specifically during the time period surrounding World War II. Not only does he describe the lives of these soldiers for “the men of the future bomber teams and for their parents, for the people at home” (Steinbeck xxvii), but also he seeks to entice young men and women to join the Air Force throughout the book. Steinbeck writes in a persuasive but yet informational tone as he thoroughly explains each aspect of an Air Force bomber squad, specifically…

 I choose this ad because Target did a really good job on delivering the message of diversity via this ad. The ad is good because Target used hundreds of photos to pull the ad together and form its signature logo. If we look carefully, we can find that every person in the photo is different. These people may from different countries, races, and have different religions. The slogan and the body copy also related to diversity.…

The Second World War had a profound global impact throughout its long six years. Today, more than seventy years after the horrific war, the impact is still acutely felt in London. From the recovery of the many buildings bombed during the Blitz, and to the war memorials to help us remember the valiant that helped the Allies win the war, there are constant reminders everywhere. There are numerous different memorials and statues commemorating the war, but some of the most interesting ones are; RAF Bomber Command Memorial, Battle of Britain memorial, and London Troops Memorial.
