Having Faith in Others
Starting out with recovery, you need to have faith in those that are guiding you through the process. Understand that many of the people and sponsors who are guiding you through the recovery process have walked in the same shoes that you are standing in. It is much easier to have faith in someone you know is imperfect and has made decisions and flaws in the same ways that you have. That gives the relationship an empathic, physical, and more concrete faith.
Having Faith in Yourself
Those who are recovering from addiction may have a depleted sense of confidence and faith in themselves, in making that lasting change. If an addiction has been swelling and growing for years, it is going to be tough to break something that has become such a deeply embedded piece of your life.
For those who are going into recovery or rehabilitation for the first time, or individuals who have gone through this process several times before, you need to have faith in yourself. Have faith that the good actions that you are taking toward becoming a better, healthier person are going to bring positive change. You are going to be a better person for yourself and the others around you. Know that you will succeed in the short term and the long term goals you have set for yourself.
