My first option was to build up the courage to talk with my manager about my difficult times, and ask if there were any opportunities to pick up extra hours in order to pay the bills. I could not fathom why God would want me to serve his church and his people when there were obviously more qualified people he could choose. This was definitely a stumbling block for me early in my ministry. I doubted my abilities and calling and therefore, didn’t totally surrender my life or calling to God. Thankfully, we have a God that, in spite of my weaknesses, used me to further his kingdom and reach people that don’t yet know Him. However, it is pivotal for me to demonstrate the love that Christ has for me through my work, family, and church functions. There may be some meaning that is discovered in these things; however, it is impossible for true meaning to be discovered apart from God, the Creator. It is certainly a possibility for an individual to find some fulfillment and satisfaction from their professional work, automobiles, and homes, but eventually, that person will discover emptiness, and a void, which these material things simply cannot fill. C. S. Lewis’s analogy of a car engine needing to run on gasoline because it was designed that way is much in the same manner. God designed man to run on Himself, and apart from Him there can be no true and ultimate sense of meaning and purpose, even in a person’s career choice.…

When I started to read the book titled "The Fabric of This World", I felt that need to reread the history in a different way. The point from rereading the history is to identify the reason behind the work phenomena and the ethics, tradition, and how they were thinking about the job in old days to study the development of the work phenomena. In my opinion, this may reflect the insight of the development of the work attitudes and aptitudes. If I can analyze these factors, I can understand more also the development of the non-work factors behind the human choices for the career and the philosophy behind it. Some people want to work to satisfy their basic needs as Hardy, L. (1990) state, "If we are to survive, we must work" (p. 7).…

How My Faith Defines Who I Am Faith: having a strong belief in a religion, or an even stronger belief in a God. I personally believe in God the Father, and that he created each and every one of us in his own image. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and brought us new life through his death and resurrection. In my faith I stand as a Catholic, which means I believe in only one God. However, God is three persons, also known as the Holy Trinity, meaning there is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.…

We are humans, and many of times we fail by trying to hold a certain status, gain certain materialistic possessions, and cause great emotional/physical harm to one another. In my beliefs, that is not the way one should live.…
