Since most children can tell the difference between what is reality and what is fantasy they know fairy tales are fictional. Fairy tales are fun and exciting for kids to read because they show a fantasy world to the kids with princesses, mermaids, and many different mythical creatures. Without fairy tales children would probably not have as active of an imagination. With little imagination there would be less creativity in the world which could make for a boring future. The fantasy world of fairy tales inspires a child’s creativity and keeps them open-minded. As a child I loved being able to read and watch movies involving fairy tales, and I am a more creative person because of it. Taking the experience of enjoying fairy tales, and becoming more creative because of them, away from children today would be wrong because you never know what their creative minds could invent or write one …show more content…
One lesson is that being a good person gives you a better chance at living a happy. The story also teaches the children that being a bad person means bad things are more likely to happen to you. In the story Cinderella was a good person and in the end married the prince and live happily ever after. The stepsisters were not good people throughout the story and at end had their eyes pecked out by birds and were blinded for the rest of their lives. These lessons teach kids that if they want a happy life they should be good people and do good things. Tatar said “Our culture has this profound belief in literature as conveying lessons to children.”(Potier) Which proves there are lessons in fairy tales because like Tatar said our culture chooses to put lessons in stories read to children. Tatar also states that when stories were rewritten for children the morals and lessons were added to the fairy tales even when they had nothing to do with the story. (Potier) This statement means that the rewritten fairy tales were intended for children because they were rewritten with morals and lessons specifically for the children. If fairy tales are taken from the children then they might not learn these lessons especially if their parents aren’t able
