Failing In Robert Frost's 'The Road Not Taken'

Failing is ok “Failure doesn’t mean the game is over, it means try again with experience.” -Len Schlesinger. Failing can be different to everyone from losing a game, or from getting a bad grade. Failing can mean different things but in some shape or form we all react the same to failure. We all want to try again when we fail and erase our mistakes. In the poem written by Maya Angelou titled “Caged Bird” it talks about being able to believe in yourself and push yourself even if you’ve made mistakes in the past. The poem “Mother to Son” written by Langston Hughes it speaks about a mother telling her son she’s been through alot but that didn't stop her from becoming the best person she can be. “The Road Not Taken” is a poem by Robert Frost and it talks about making a rash decision knowing you could run into failure in your path. In this poem it says “Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear;” This is saying that he is probably a bit older and wiser because he didn't care that failure could be in their choice, he didn’t care that a lot of people were choosing something else. He did what he felt was right and stuck to it even though failure could apply. “I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-, I took the one less traveled by, And that made all the difference”. The message in that stanza is that something did go wrong but he decided to forget about it and look at what the good came shortly after. The choice that he made he feels it wouldn’t of happened if they chose something else or did something else. Yes, he did fail but that didn’t stop him from looking at the brightside of things and seeing what can happen out of
