The concepts become harder, workload increases, and the pressure of college is starting to sink in. With these changes, many students find themselves struggling in school. The good news is that all teachers who have actively or passively failing students in their classes can adopt particular strategies and tactics of teaching that may prove beneficial in helping failing students improve their course performance. Students may also be experiencing fear of failure or lack of self confidence and no desire to continue in their studies. They just do not have the initiative or motivation to succeed. As a parent, it's very important for you to address the problem quickly and get your child back on track. Schedule an appointment with your child's teacher if you haven't already been contacted. Kimberly Day 3/22/15 Journal #5 The top two reasons a student in college flunks or drops out of classes are because they don’t have time management skills or they are not financially responsible. Luckily for me, I am very strict with myself in both of these categories, as I feel they share equal importance to a student’s life. During my college years it is crucial that I keep a close eye on my bank statements and maintain my time management effectively if I want to be included in the numbers of students who succeed. For me, being a single mother puts a massive hold on my financial status, especially during this time of my life.…
