Copyright law is defined as a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States to authors of “original works of authorship”. Copyright law is covered in Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. Article 1 of the Constitution as a whole involves freedom of speech. Fair use law is defined as a limitation and exception to the exclusive right granted by copyright law to the author of a creative work. Fair use law is covered in Section 107 of the U.S. Constitution. A copyright is basically a patent for media, such as videos, songs, or poems.
