Government control is everywhere. Whether it’s taxes that are paid when something is bought from a store, or simply going to the local public school. Or, it could be something bigger, such as joining the army. All of these daily activities have some sort of government involvement. In fact, most of life has some form of government control weaved in that isn’t even noticed. It is the government control in our nation that keeps us healthy and safe. Without some form of authority, the world would be chaos. A government force to look up to is a common aspect of all healthy communities. Government control has many positive outcomes including the safety of a community, equality between people, and the comfort and happiness of a population.

This system regulates temperature, and eliminates natural phenomena such as tornadoes, storms, or earthquakes. The regular temperature and lack of weather creates a healthy environment for crops to thrive and keeps humans safe by discarding the possibility of injuries from natural disasters. This an significant factor of government control because if the United States government had this type of technology, there wouldn’t be so much hunger because there would be more opportunity for crops to grow. Also, natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina that caused over 1,833 fatalities and left around one million people homeless, wouldn’t happen because we would have the power to control weather. Also, in the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, all of the houses are fireproof. In …show more content…
By taking the aspects of life that create differences between people, life becomes dull. There is no choice what job you get, what clothes you wear, or the family you have. For example, in the book The Giver by Lowis Lowry, you are assigned a job, family, and an appearance. With this system, you don’t get to pick what you do or whom you live with. You could get stuck with a job you have an interest in or don’t possess the skill set that is required to complete the job. Or, you are forced to be with a spouse that you don’t like. Still, equality in a community makes it so everyone can have a happy healthy life, not just a lucky few. For instance, having clothes that are the same as someone else is better than no clothes at all. Citizens of the United States are suffering because they have nothing, where other people have so much money they don’t know what to do with it. Also, when people are given choices such as their spouse or job, they often choose wrong and problems arise such as divorce and unemployment. In all, a balance in a community is more beneficial and important than the privilege to make decisions.
Overall, different forms of government involvement such as the creation of equality by distributing goods or taking away negative influences, such as books or inappropriate language, is an essential to all functional communities. Without authority

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a dystopian novel that takes the reader on a journey through a future world where books are illegal. The novel outlines the fact that books are important to civilization in many ways, whether it be content, characters, themes, or any important historical foundation that books contain. At the end of the book, the main character, Guy Montag, grabs a few books to save from the firemen, and finds himself amongst a group of homeless book lovers who each have books, or portions of books, memorized where they are safe from the hands of firemen and the government. With the idea of being in Montag’s place and having a choice of which books I would save, I would have chosen The Color Purple, The Wind in the Willows, and The Life of Pi, each for their own unique qualities that would be valuable for future civilizations for historical reference. Rich with gender and racial history, The Color Purple by Alice Walker exemplifies what life was like in the early 1900s for southern African American women.…

Although these types can differ dramatically, the same goal of all governments remains alike.…
