Fahrenheit 451 My First Reading Analysis

My First Reading Memory.
In Douglass’s and Alexie’s essays, we learn the details of how each became a reader. Likewise, we witness Montag’s first reading experience in Fahrenheit 451. We each have a story about learning to read.
My first time reading that I remember was when me and my Mimi would sit down at night just before bed and read stories. I think the stories were from a children’s bible. My Mimi would always tell me, “If you want any chance at making good grades, then you have to be able to read.” She was right, so I took those words to heart. They had a great effect on my life.
Before I knew it i was in the 4th grade and I was taking advanced reader classes. The things that my Mimi told me had a huge effect on my life.

In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, Montag, the book-saver, tried to escape the world of the overwhelming technology. Social activities were replaced by inane TV shows where clowns tear their limbs apart, families are replaced by the “family” on the television, and where thoughts are stopped by deafening TV commercials. Bradbury’s vision of today seems to be precise seeing that people started to care less about each other, people stop thinking due to the overload of technological advances and TV screens replace books. “‘Henry, open up the iPad for Jenny, she’s been crying a lot lately. Keep her quiet for just an hour, I need to finish up this work.’…

Fahrenheit 451 In the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury the absence of scrutinization from citizens allow the government to fully control the cities and causes society to spiral out of control . Ray Bradbury uses the minor character Clarisse to develop the image of a corrupt city for the readers. This sparks constant questioning of society (the antagonist) from Montag the main character.
