The harsh rain began to lighten. I continued my stride towards the center of the sidewalk, I rose my head from looking at the ground and there he was. I gave Montag a quick grin.
“Hello!”
“What are you up to now?” he cutely questioned.
“I'm still crazy. The rain feels good. I love to walk in it.” I energetically responded, maybe a bit too energetically I thought. Kids my own age don't particularly interest me, I've got my eye on Montag, but I'd never admit that.
“I don't think I'd like that,” he said.
“You might if you tried.” The two of us are very different, but I think that's what makes our relationship special. We learn things from one another, and it looks to me as though he needs some diversity in his …show more content…

“It doesn't show,” I say as I try to convince him of his true feelings.
“I am, very much in love!” I give him a face of confusion.
“I am!” he shouts. His face starts to sadden, but also add anger.
“Oh, please don't look that way.” What have I done? Poor guy, trying to fool himself into fondness for that wife of his. In all honesty, I don't really know Mildred. Who knows, she might be in love with Montag, but the feeling definitely isn't mutually. Maybe Mildred is a good wife, just not a sincere match for Montag.
“It's the dandelion, you've used it all up on yourself. That's why it won't work for me.” I eventually give
