n the novel Fahrenheit 451 Captain Beatty says:“Now listen very carefully, it is very important that you must tell anybody about this.” Someone may ask why does Fahrenheit sound so similar to all these other books and films. A simple answer would be a list of novels and movies so similar to this one it’s hard to find a precise match. However The Giver is the book which comes the closest in similarity and meaning to Fahrenheit 451. Ray Bradbury did an outstanding job on making this novel Fahrenheit 451 have various meanings and connections, allowing to connect on a different level with each reader of the novel. Ray bradbury and Phillip Noyce, great minds think alike.
The Giver directed by Phillip Noyce has very similar ideas and details that may suggest how and why it may have been influenced by Fahrenheit 451. The Giver had little details throughout the movie such as, when Jonas tells his sister what his job is for the first time. This is just one of many little glimpses of Fahrenheit that we see in the film. In both the book and the film, the main characters hide stuff from there family and friends making it a very significant moment in the book/ film when there secret is revealed. There were indeed elements from Fahrenheit 451 but none of them were different form, they were all underlined and executed in the same manner. The Film and the Novel share a same plot but a different agenda and this all just comes down to when, where, and why all these different elements of the plot
