The Giver directed by Phillip Noyce has very similar ideas and details that may suggest how and why it may have been influenced by Fahrenheit 451. The Giver had little details throughout the movie such as, when Jonas tells his sister what his job is for the first time. This is just one of many little glimpses of Fahrenheit that we see in the film. In both the book and the film, the main characters hide stuff from there family and friends making it a very significant moment in the book/ film when there secret is revealed. There were indeed elements from Fahrenheit 451 but none of them were different form, they were all underlined and executed in the same manner. The Film and the Novel share a same plot but a different agenda and this all just comes down to when, where, and why all these different elements of the plot
