Montag jolted awake. He looked over out his window and he realized it was all a dream. It was raining outside, as if symbolizing his new beginning. He slowly got up and walked downstairs . He still couldn’t see so he felt it best to play dead. he stopped moving and eventually his vision returned to him. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness he heard voices coming from behind him. One of the men sitting around the fire got up and picked Montag up from where he was crouching. He brought him over to the fire and sat him down on the bench. For three years, Father had refused the idea of leaving North Carolina. But my brother, Ben, sent us another letter, addressed as he always did to John Benjamin Wilks and Katie. In the letter Ben was praising his new farm, the richness of the land and how many more acres he was clearing. He told of the bountiful crops of corn and wheat that he would be reaping in a few weeks, more corn and wheat per acre than Father had ever gotten from our old worn out farm in North Carolina. He told of the abundance of water, game, and timber.…

An attribute that both generations show is strength. Both show this strength in different ways but this attribute could have been directly passed down from parent to child. The Greatest Generation showed their strength by their ability to fight a war that was on the other side of the world. They fought for other countries’ freedom fully knowing the danger of their service. Those who were left in the United States exhibited enormous amounts of strength by their resilience and ability to industrialize their nation to supply the nation’s war efforts.…

The rough dark storm arising from the clouds only made it seem more like fate. After all, Adrius only awoke from the eerily loud sounds outside. He creaked downstairs to his parent’s bedroom, like any 6-year-old would do when they woke up at midnight, but the fear from the noises was only the start of it all. He creaked open the door to where he thought his parents were, but where were they? Looking around the room, he saw nothing but an empty bed, a cupboard and all the other furniture found in a bedroom, with the only missing thing in the room being his parents.…
