Everyone wants to know the secret to shedding a few pounds. They want the quick, easy way to get rid of the love handles or arm flab. Because of this, fad diets are constantly coming and going. One way of eating has been around for thousands of years and has more recently turned into a fad diet. The Daniel diet or fast came from Bible times. It is named after a man named Daniel. This way of eating, for him, was out of obedience to his faith, so he was not the earliest dietitian; he was just a man trying to be obedient to what God asked of him. The purpose of this fast is to improve body functions and take care of body functions. This fast has been shown to improve many various body functions. One study concluded that this fast may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases (Alleman, Harvey, Farney, Blommer, 2013). In addition, a study has …show more content…
This is a long enough time for them to notice a difference and more importantly for their body to benefit from this change in diet. On the other hand, if they wanted to continue the plane long term, I would strongly suggest the modified plan. By following this one, they would be able to include other much needed nutrients so they were getting variety to include all vitamins and minerals they need to take in. It could be difficult to stick with this diet for a long time because it cuts out so many foods. It is stricter than vegan diets, and vegans have difficulty find food out and about they can eat. People who are anemic should not follow this plan. They would have an exceptionally hard time taking in the iron their bodies need. Others who should be watchful on this fast would be those with a calcium deficiency.
