Another popular fad diet would be the grapefruit diet. This fad was created in 1930 by a man named Kelly D. Brownell, they say it has outlasted other fad diets around. They say that the grapefruit contains certain enzymes that cause the body to lose weight. On the diet you go ten to twelve days with cutting back on all sugars, carbohydrates, avoiding certain foods (Celery, white onion), eating foods that are high in protein, and eating grapefruit or drinking natural grapefruit juice before every meal.

There has been a few studies that show about grapefruit and weight loss.
