I want to talk with you about the Bible. I think the Bible is a very interesting subject because it is such a worldwide book, everybody has their own idea about the Bible. Maybe you can think of your own thoughts on the Bible. Some say it is a book of God. Still, others say it is just a book written by humans many years ago. I wanted to dig deep to see what the facts are about this book that many have devoted their life to, The Book of God. The Bible itself says that it is inspired by God but to be inspired by God it should be like no other book known to man when it comes to science, historical accuracy, prophecy, and availability. This is what I decided to search for because if the Bible is a book from God, would it not seem that we should …show more content…
No human can predict the future with complete accuracy but the Bible did do so time and time again. Even, one case with King Sennacherib's death but let us review some other prophecies that were spot on. Around the year 732 B.C., the prophet Isaiah foretold at Isaiah 44 and 45 that a man named Cyrus would conquer the mighty city of Babylon. Now this was a "fairy-tale" idea of itself. Babylon was a dynasty for a time, this would be a hard defeat. The prophecy goes on to say that Cyrus would dry up a river and that Babylon's cities gates would mistakenly be left open. History confirms that every detail of this prophecy came true. So what? They foretold it would happen, it could just be a lucky guess, right? Well, one lucky guess it would have to be seeing that the prophecy did not happen until 539 B.C., almost 200 years after the prophecy was first stated. Yet, it was prophecied to the tee and they even named who would do it, even though the person named, Cyrus, was not even close to being born at the time of the prophecy. Not only that but a hundred years beforehand in 614 B.C., the prophet Jeremiah said at Jeremiah 50:39, and Jeremiah 51:37 that Babylon would be brought to ruin, never to be built up again. Despite its strategic location, Babylon has become a pile of stones and it stays that way to this day. Wouldn't you think someone who is anti-Bible would go to Babylon to rebuild it, just to prove the Bible wrong? Yet, no one has sucessfully done so to date! This speaks volumes to the Bible's accuracy of

From this section of reading that human beings do not seem to learn from their mistakes. We continue to find ourselves in trials just like the people of Israel because we forget the blessings that God has shown to us. As a result of our forgetfulness we act selfishly which leads us to disobey God’s commands. It was apparent that the people of Israel did not attempt to retain information regarding the gifts from God such as delivering them from slavery and maybe if they had they would not have found themselves continually landing in tough situations. If only they were more like Stan’s wife in Knowing the Bible 101: A Guide to God’s Word in Plain Language by Bruce Bickel & Stan Jantz when it says “Perhaps she is motivated by the great insight of George Santayana: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”…

The Bible is arguably the most important, physical component of Christianity. It is used as a guideline to show us the way to salvation, as well as a means by which we are able to know Him and His will better. Many, however, would question the validity of the Bible. Christians claim that the Bible is infallible, and “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness ...,”(2 Timothy 3:16, ESV) but even Christians disagree as to what are legitimate books of the Bible. Given this, it is natural to be skeptical about the nature and subsequent uses of the Bible.…
