Kendrick Lamar has captured the heart of many people with his courageous was of standing up for “Black Lives Matter,’ with his song “Alright.” This gallant young man age 28 was know as Kendrick Lamar or K-Dot. His real name is Kendrick Lamar Duckworth he was born in Compton, California, on June 17,1987. His parents moved from Chicago to Campton in hope of escaping city’s gangs. Kendricks father had been a part of the notorious Gangster Disciples gang. In the 1980s the West Coast gang presence increased as well as the crack trade, Kendrick was harmed by this. He started off as a child writing stories that he later transformed into music about the rough times of living in Campton, California. As more people first started to notice Kendrick Dr. Dre soon signed him to his independent record label, Aftermath Entertainment. Kendrick dropped his album good kid, m.A.A.d city, in October 2012, this was a huge album within the label. His hit singles like “Poetic Justice” and “Swimming Pools (Drank),” caught the eyes of American televisions, which gave him the opportunity to make an appearance on Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon while still promoting his album. Kendrick did not only have a fan base among the hard-core-hip-hop fans, but also fans of alternative rock music and college students. Kendrick skills went further landing him to receive the name from MTV as the “Hottest MC,” of 2012. This name puts him on the same levels of many other well known rappers like Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z. In 2013 Kendrick has yet again captured everyone's attention by his bold act of calling out Big Sean, Drake and J, Cole in a verse on the song “ Control,” which was created by Big Sean.
