Kasser and Ryan listed several life goals that were examined highly in this study. These goals were; wealth, notoriety, body image, self development, close relationships, involvement with the community, and being fit. All of these goals are easily relatable in one way or another. People are affected everyday by one if not more of these goals that we want to achieve. The media plays the biggest factor on this, it always shows people that look very fit, wealthy, and have matured in life. This creates our own images or goals on what we want to achieve. As we analyze each individual in this study we find that the more intrinsic we get, the better our psychological health is. As we embettering our mental health, it decreases our risk of developing disorders such as: depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, and overall vitality. Relating to the study, it showed that people choosing either attainment style affected their psychological health.
