Critically Evaluate The Factors That Are Important For A Learner

Using a range of sources such as academic and reflective journals, wider reading and my own personal perspective it will provide a broad view to critically evaluate factors that are important for a teacher and learner.
Firstly, one factor that I believe is important is a teacher’s values, attitudes, beliefs and expectations. Each teacher will interpret and implement these morals differently which will affect children’s learning. As a result of the Principles of Learning and Teaching session I have created an understanding that all teachers aim to have high expectations that are consistently approached with patience, passion and motivation within their practice. However, from my own experience I believe that it is not always the case and certain teachers approach these morals from their own experience.

But Bloom conflicted this thought due to research has shown that pupils levels of achievement can be increased by regular practice of higher order thinking and question asking. However, from a leaners perspective stimulating induvial thinking alone can be challenging. On the other hand, Mary Budd Rowe (1972) developed a concept of “wait time”. She found that teachers didn’t offer children enough time to think and respond to questions. From a teacher’s view this area must be urged forward due to it can reduce the amount of questions teachers ask and develop a better discussion. From my own experience and a learner’s perspective if there isn’t enough time to process the question then a response wouldn’t be given. This reduces self-confidence and independent thinking which can affect learning. On reflection, it shows the importance of teacher awareness while teaching. As a teacher, I aim to constantly develop my awareness in and outside of the class room with an aim to provide better support and learning experience.
Fourthly, another theoretical perspective which I see as important that is having an awareness of learning
