Colonisation can be a explained as an act of political and economic domination of an alien state in another state against their will.The idea of colonialism started in the post-renaissance era in Europe. The colonial powers wanted to have control over the trade of the colony and increase their profits to make their nations rich. Colonialism is an ideology associated with the subordinate colony, which forced countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America the colonies of European powers to be.Colonizing nations generally dominate the resources, labour, and markets of the colonial territory, also impose socio-cultural, religious and linguistic structures on the conquered population. Probably the most important economic as a depression was occurring in Europe. Countries like Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, other powers were losing money, and Africa appeared a way out of the depression. To make money out of Africa, Europeans used its many raw goods. They hoarded oil, ivory, rubber, palm oil, wood, cotton, and gum (for paper). The missionaries introduced education by establishing mission schools whose purpose was to educate the local Africans and help them to learn more about their culture and land. Also, the provided them with weapons to protect them when they were under threat from their enemies and this ironically, helped the Africans feel safer.The Europeans provided them with better infrastructure, such as medical facilities, transport, and communication. Even though it was for their own benefit, availability of the new technology, made even more efficient and profitable, tools for farming and introduced new crops like maize and manioc from the New World.Established plantations for the growing of cash crops like cocoa, coffee, tea, rubber and cotton, and this made the trading game stronger. Colonialism made the world aware of Africa’s rich culture although they adopted some the European culture, its abundance in natural and mineral resources and introducing the countries to trade on the international markets.Enough jobs provided for the Africans.
