THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction / Background of the Study
Student jobs have become a sort of trend among students around the world, who want to work while they are studying. In short, the term that suits this trend is 'Earn and Learn' policy. Other reason why student jobs are popular among students is they help to cope up with the constant increase in tuition fees, and a way to afford further educations.
The problem has been developed with the question as to how the corresponding workloads and required working hours of working students affect their academic performance at University of Caloocan- Camarin Campus.

By knowing these factors, students will be responsive and it could help them to pursue a better academic performance in school. That working while studying is not a hindrance for them to have failing grades and it’s not a reason to be inactive in performing in school. Further significance is the non- working students and faculty members could understand why most college students are oblige to work while studying and how could they help them.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study
The study focused much on the reasons why college students in University of Caloocan City work while studying, and the factors affecting their academic performances. The researcher will explain and enlighten the mind of the readers for them to understand the clearly this study.
The main location of the study will be the University of Caloocan City and the most target respondents would be the working students, but possibly, the researcher could also ask other students or also school administrator and faculty members to gather some information and will use other resources to be able for this research to become possible and effective.
