When a mother’s love for her child goes wrong on a whole other level can be very traumatizing to those mothers out there who are very attached to their child. This disorder is called Munchausen Syndrome by proxy, also known as Factitious Disorder or MSP, or MSBP for short. It is a Psychiatric Disorder. What it is? Is a disorder that is most common in mothers. It is also known as a child abuse disorder where the mother will make her child very ill to create attention and sympathy from health care providers for hospital attention and to take care of their children. But it has caught me by surprise to hear that this was a real thing. On my inspiration on why I chose this disorder was from a movie called The Good Mother. Looking back, at all the information in my research really made me open my eyes more into being more cautious for the future when dealing with mental patients who are doing child abuse as well as poisoning their children to grab the health care provider’s attention. This type of information has defiantly made me look forward in dealing with a patient who may come off suspicious, and to be aware of my surroundings when seeing a victim going through abuse by a parent who is mentally ill. Knowing that not all mothers are at all what they seem to be, whether or not they seem loving and caring, but can come off a bit odd. Especially when it comes to dealing with a child who is repeatedly coming to the hospital for the enormous amount of reasons with symptoms and illness. But when a child’s record is all over the place on random causes and effects it will draw attention to us as a medical profession that there may be some type of child abuse from the family. This most likely shows you to always make sure the child is in a safe environment, and to always keep in mind that not all patients know medical terminology so always be on the lookout for that. Even when a mother tells you the symptoms of what’s wrong with the child itself. So just remember that no matter what, to always think of the child, and to help keep an eye on the mother for the safety of the
