The most extreme being a girl who was previously in the top ten being demoted below the 100 students who were graduating. I, with the help of my friend, decided to challenge the school administration and found that there was both an error in the computing system, which certain staff attempted to ‘correct’ by manually imputing GPAs, and that many teachers were manipulating grades for students. The teachers doing this manipulation either passed their favorite kids, failed kids they did not like (who happened to mostly be people of color), or did both. I presented my argument and concerns to the school administration, and they vehemently denied the allegations.
