Description of Childhood Upbringing/Early Years: He was raised in a farmhouse outside the hills of Tuscany. He lived with his father and stepmother till he was five, after those years spent with his father he moved to his father's family estate where he lived with his uncle and grandparents in Vinci. He lived in Vinci Italy for a while hence Leonardo Da Vinci meaning Leonardo from Vinci.
Education:
He studied the laws of science and nature, which fueled his work as a painter, sculptor, architect, inventor, military engineer and draftsman. When Leonardo was around the age of fourteen he was the apprentice of an artist Andrea del Verrocchio in Florence. From that he learned technical skills in metalwork, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting. His work was a drawing in 1473.
