Elizabeth was sitting by the window watching the waters as they splashed on the island. She had wondered if it would rain anytime soon and what happens when the storm gets worrisome. Emily Brent sat down next to her and asked, “what’s your crime?” Elizabeth replied, “My crime? What do you mean my crime?” Elizabeth is very particular in her wording. Emily Brent said, “It seems everyone here seems to have committed a crime.” Elizabeth for the first time in a long time had felt insecure. She uttered the words, “I don’t want to talk about it.” Emily was puzzled considering they had obviously gotten away with it. Elizabeth didn’t want to sound stuck up by owning up to her crime. She knew she couldn’t go to jail for the suicide of her boyfriend, …show more content…
She usually just shrugs it off and doesn’t let her affect her, but this time was different. She soon began to realize that she may never leave this island. She always had a good sense of when something wrong was going to happen. She thought maybe this person who was on the intercom was acting as some sort of God to judge all of their wrongs. She always kept to herself and didn’t like showing emotion, but this time it was stating to wear down on her. All the sudden every emotion that can be named hit her. She thought about Thomas and how she wrongfully used him. She thought about how she will never get to see him again and thought of all the kindness he showed towards her. She knew what she did was wrong but didn’t care. Now all of the sudden she finally cared. That episode of emotions was over and she then thought of who the murder is and leaned towards someone amongst them. She thought of how it would most likely be the doctor considering he would know how to murder someone and make it look like it was incidental. She also thought it could be the judge considering he has experience with murder and how the person on the intercom talked judgment among the others. She looked for Emily to ask for her opinion on the matter. Emily agreed and said that was a very big possibility, but that she thinks it isn’t someone among them. Elizabeth excused herself to the restroom to wash her face. She turned on the sink and the door

After discovering Proctor’s secret meeting with Abigail where the two discussed the standing of the witch trials and how it “was all just sport”; Elizabeth made her husband promise to tell Danforth about what Abigail has told him. Despite her obvious discontent with Proctor’s secrecy in the sense of “back[ing] away” from his kiss, Elizabeth soon forgave her husband when trial came. As Proctor risked his own “name” to end the dreaded trials, Elizabeth sought only to protect her beloved husband, compelling her to lie for his sake. Having redeemed himself (John Proctor), Elizabeth would argue her husband’s honor and…

When you hear something that is not quite right what are you supposed to do? For me this answer is very simple, say the right answer. If i am sure that i am correct on a matter i will put my foot down, i will argue my case until the opposing side submits and agrees with what i am thinking Although if i am not sure that i am one hundred percent correct i will not initiate the argument. With all of this i might not seem to headstrong but if someone believes i did something i did not do, well there is where the problem lies. I become one of the most stubborn people you could imagine.…

Tom unknotted the tie that accompanied the tie that accompanied his light brown woolen suit jacket, and wondered for what seemed to be the millionth time why Dectives were required to dress as if they were wall-street bankers or stock analysts. At least when out in public, whenever he was alone in his office, the tie came off, as did the jacket, and he undid the top button of his shirt, as he sat back in his chair, with his eyes raised to the ceiling and tapping the tip of a blue pen against his lips. His mode of concentration and contemplation as he considered the case. So intent was the man's focus as he attempted to figure out the next move on an investigation which had barely started that everything else was forgotten, even the fact that he'd called his wife, and the sudden familiar sound of her voice, accompanied by the aroma of food, startled him.…

Elizabeth clearly struggles to free herself from Proctor to even tell Danforth the truth. Furthermore, she says, “I came to think he fancied her. And so one night I lost my wits, I think, and put her out on the highroad” (Act 3, Miller). This shows that she had the fear of ruining Proctors reputation. When she says “I think” the reader clearly sees the struggle that Elizabeth has in telling the truth.…

It was barely 7 PM, yet I was already worn out, the day had been long and tiring, and I was just about to call it a night. I crawled into bed, ready for sleep, but then I heard the "whoosh" that signalled an email being sent to me on my phone. I retrieved my phone and was just about to click the mail icon before a shiver went down my spine. It felt as though someone was staring at me, grieving for me, so I looked at my surroundings, half expecting to spot a ghost smiling eerily at me. There was no malevolent spirit to be seen, obviously, so I just shrugged the feeling off and checked the message.…

I wish I could start this off by saying that I was wary of or excited about this book when I first picked it up off the shelf at my local library but I can’t. In fact I had no opinion of it at all. I had known it had existed for some time, having passed by it many times over the years, but I had never stopped to look and see what it was actually about. Now I wish I had. Upon reading the dust cover I immediately began to be sucked into the story the way you often are when finding an interesting read.…

There are many lessons to be learned in life, lessons which are learned through conversations, mishaps, and great experiences. One experience I had was a little bit of all three. It was a conversation, started wrong, but nevertheless ended up being a great experience in which I learned an important lesson, that there are times to give up, and times to not give up, and sometimes even though giving up might seem like the right option, not giving up can lead to great success. My senior year of High school was hectic. Not only did I have the stress that comes from school work, I also started working too, to hopefully get some experience, and also, have some change in my pocket.…

Now I Know Better On a Thursday year of 2015, I realized making people laugh isn’t as good as it seems in certain situations. After school, my mom and siblings decided that we should go to the park, to hang out with some friends. It was a good weather to go, not too cold and not too hot, so I didn’t refuse. As we got there, me and my older sister, Sondos, wanted to go for a walk near the fountains because we got bored from sitting down and wanted to see the ducklings swim around the fountains. The fountains went really high and would splash you.…
