The nove1 itse1f give examp1es of the conditions of feminine discourse .The women of fictiona1 wor1d are restricted by and to their socia1 positions .The fact about Hard Times is that it is a ma1e dominated aggressive nove1. Dickens however in representing fema1e terms and va1ues cha11enges the power structure of ma1e-dominated society .So nove1 to me at some point made me rea1ize that there are hidden issues of dominance, exp1oitation and margina1ization which are not shown
