1. Characters: The characters are Maisie, Chirag, Serena, and Marnie. Maisie is the main character of the book. Chirag is Maisies boyfriend and Serena is her best friend. Marnie is Maisies physical therapist that they assign her when she gets into her accident.
2. Background: Maisie is out for a run one early morning and while she is running she hears thunder and sees lighting. A couple blocks from her house a tree gets struck by lightning and hits her while she is running. She doesn’t get found till a couple hours later when her dad finds her laying on the ground.
3. Motivation: Maisie just wants to go back to her normal life. She wants to go run and be at school with her friends but being in the hospital is not helping her. She had to get a face transplant and get a face from a girl who died in a car accident.
4. Setting: The setting takes place at the hospital for Maisie’s surgery. It also takes place on the road where she got struck by the tree. She is at her house a lot to because that's where she stays while recovering.

Another event is that Maisie goes back to school. It started out slow but she got back in the routine of her schedule. She has to take her medicine every day in the morning and at lunch time.
