Facebook can solve the challenge to get time and attention into a bigger share of consumer wallets, i.e. a bigger share of money they spend either directly or indirectly through the advertising revenue. This will in turn benefit shareholders and achieve profit maximization. Establishing the right to be forgotten is actually against freedom of speech and a free flow of information and it conflicts with the open nature of the web and the free flow of information. This is in fact depriving the public of useful information. Implementing the right to be forgotten will incur some cost for Facebook as it needs to change their software code to satisfy the right.
