Benefits And Benefits Of Facebook

On December 1st, 2015, after the facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg vowed to donate 99% of

his facebook shares for charity, the eyes of the world focused again on this young and successful

entrepreneur. On February 4, 2004 in a normal college domitory, Harvard College’s sophomore

Mark and his roomates launched the website of Facebook, which started a new era of social media

and in some sense transformed people’s way of life. With more than 10 years of development,

Facebook has become not only a platform for people to chat with each other online, but a big stage

where people around the world share everything of their lives. As facebook has become one of the

most popular social media in the world, I want to dicuss the benefits and

Firstly, before talking about its specific benefits, let’s see what exactly functions facebook has.

On August 22, 2006, “Facebook Notes” was first introduced. It is a blogging feature that allowed

users to post words and images within a friends’ circle. “Facebook Chat” was added on April 6,

2008. It is a Comet-based instant messaging application which allows users to communicate with

other Facebook users in a way similar in functionality to instant messaging software. On May 14,

2007, Facebook launched Marketplace, which lets users post free classified ads. Then from 2011,

Facebook introduced the “Voice Call” and “Video Call” via Skype. Ever since, Facebook has

become more and more powerful. Accordingly, more and more people chose to use Facebook as

their main social media app. As of the third quarter of 2015, Facebook had 1.55 billion monthly

active users, which reflects its big success over the world.

So, as it has so many “cool” functions, how does facebook specifically benefit our life? The

three things listed below are what I think of facebook’s biggest advantages towards users.

1.Help people to find and know someone unknown

In other words, Facebook is just like an “online biography” or a “wikipedia of

people”. It provides the most vivid information of someone with words and pictures. It helps us

know more about someone else in a really fast and convenient way.

2.Serve as personal account to register other website.

In today’s Network World, in order to get more active users, many websites ask people to sign

up to become their members, otherwise they won’t provide further information in the website.

Gradually, people become tired of registering those websites using their e-mail and remembering a

series of passwords; and they may take a risk of receiving tons of junk mails. Fortunately, as

Facebook has become a necessity for nearly all of the netizens, many websites started to provide an

option for people to sign up by logging in their Facebook account. By doing this, people don’t have

to register a new account every time when they enter a new website, whcih save them lots of time

and energy. On the other hand, the way of “Facebook Logging” provides those website controllers

with more real data of their website visitor, their potential members. As a result, the

Research question: To what extent does Facebook influence racism in Australia Rationale: This research originated in the widespread evidence of racism in Australia. The social media is playing an important role in the process of converting traditional guidelines and standards we used in the past to determine group membership, they involved negative stereotypes such as aggressiveness. It is inevitable to study the possible reasons for the racial inequities and discrimination in Australia because the minorities are facing inequities such as danger, harassment and other racist attacks undertaken by “white-thinking” people, especially Muslims and the person who looks like Middle East. The aim of this research proposal is to find the correlation between the usage of social networking site and the perceptions of racism, and examines the representation of minorities on the social networking site, and how the misrepresentation can be led to the growth of a ‘racism’.…

Unlike the auto industry where users buy either a Ford F-150 or a Chevy Silverado, people often use more than one social media service. The social media industry races for the most unique users and competes to capture an individual’s personal time. These free services make money based on how much time users spend on their platforms and ultimately how many times they click an advertisement, so appealing to a large number of dedicated users is key. Facebook’s main competitive advantage is its vast user market.…

Having annual turnovers in billion dollars, with a small workforce of around 7500+ employees, gives Facebook open opportunity to use its assets in future mergers and acquisitions as we have seen in recent past when Facebook acquired mobile chat application of WhatsApp which gave Facebook direct access to each and every mobile device available on Android or iOS technology. But before further mergers and acquisitions, Facebook has to understand that its core competency is an interface of social networking under which it has excelled to newer heights. To enhance its work capabilities to mobile applications and other portals, Facebook has to develop further competencies in those particular…
