I am a Computer Science Major. The reason I am taking FMSC 330 is to satisfy my Gen-Ed requirement. I have decided to review a poster about health disparities among immigrants titled “Racial/Ethnic Differences in Dental Insurance and Utilization: Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), 2007-2015”.
Social determinants are nonmedical factors that influence health such as education and welfare of neighborhoods. The poster I am reviewing focuses on the disparities between low-income individuals and their access to dental health. The poster does a good job with the data as they researched categories from race, ethnicity, age, the amount of dental checkups, and whether or not dental insurance is used.
