FFT is an evidenced based strength-based treatment model built on a foundation of acceptance and respect, it’s a prevention and intervention program for adolescents at risk of, or already engaging in, problem behaviors. FFT focus on assessment and intervention to tackle the issues of risk and protective elements within and outside of the family that impact the adolescent and his or her adaptive development. FFT targets children and youth’s ages10-18 and their families, whose problems range from acting out to conduct disorder to alcohol/substance abuse. Intervention ranges from, on average, 8 to 12 one-hour sessions for mild cases and up to 30 sessions for difficult situations.
