Since my freshman year of high school, my passion for agriculture has flourished. I did not come from an agricultural background as my parents worked for the State and Amtrak, but I was intrigued about California’s leading industry. Up until my freshman year in high school, the closest I had gotten to agriculture was when I would grow a garden of vegetables during the spring for fresh produce. I became involved in my school’s FFA chapter and was infatuated with the FFA from the start. I saw it as a way to become involved as well as to expand my leadership and social skills. This also became my escape from home when things became rough with my alcoholic father. I found friends who later I considered my family. Prior to joining the FFA, I had been involved in bad behavior and surrounded myself with negative people. My …show more content…
In order to achieve my goal and dream of becoming an agriculture teacher I need to further my education by attending CSU Chico’s College of Agriculture. I come from a household where income is tight as my mother provides for me and my two sisters. She supports the extra curricular activities me and my siblings want to do. She plans to help fund my college expenses, however it will be a struggle. This scholarship will help be a way to alleviate some of that stress and be a positive investment into my future. I hope to later give back by making a difference in agriculture and the future of the industry through education and leadership development of youth. In addition, I hope to give back to Chico State’s College of Agriculture through the creation of a poultry production program using my extensive expertise in the poultry production industry. Using my leadership skills I hope to dedicate myself to servant leadership around the campus and

Introduction and Overview For several years, the FFA has been thought of by many as the “Future Farmers of America.” While farming may have been the fundamentals of this organization, it has evolved into so much more. Therefore, the idea that FFA is merely a farming organization can be exceedingly misleading to those who have little experience or knowledge of this organization. Contrary to popular belief, FFA’s sole purpose is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their leadership skills, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. The National FFA consists of 649,355 members, from 7,859 chapters in all 50 states.…

My admiration for farming developed as a young child as I sought to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps. Spending time on the farm with my grandfather made me gain a love for agriculture. If my grandfather had not been there to inspire me I would not have gained the love I have for agriculture, therefore, is the reason why I am pursuing an education in agriculture through DMACC. There are countless traits I have learned through my time at the farm a few examples are that I am hard working and responsible. My passion would have never been achievable without the amount of hard work and some sacrifices financially.…

As a youth representative on the County Extension Council, Codey acts as a voice for all of the youth of Christian County. If Codey becomes aware of a need in the community that Extension Specialists could provide programming for he brings it to the attention of the Council. Just this week Codey has organized for the Christian County Community Development Specialist to talk to his agriculture class about “making the most of personality and communication.” With Codey’s assertiveness, I do not doubt his sincerity and honesty of the interview. He shared a lot of personal information about his life that he did not have to.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

Tiffany spoke about in the FFA Creed were and I always responded with two things. I said that we could keep agriculture going by standing true to the traditions of advocating and involvement. The thing I didn’t say however, was the fact that these two had to work together before any sustainability would happen. I think that we are safe to say that our agriculture involvement is good. With 629,367 FFA members alone , we can say that there are at least that many enrolled in agriculture classes.…

Most kids want to be an astronaut or the president, but the cost to get there can be high, especially when it comes to the education portion of the job. I want to be a nutritionist, because it is something that I think I will thoroughly enjoy, and would be successful at. To achieve my dream of being a nutritionist I will need to go through years of college which could end up being very costly.…
