FFA Benefits

"You will never be able to share a bond with something like your cows, and FFA is the best for showing that." Is something my Poppy has always told me, ever since I was first starting out as a farm girl, it is something I have agree with. A great activity my school offers is the FFA, FFA stands for Future Farmers of America. First, it is a club that lets me experience the natural world that God created. It is like having a science class, except it is fun. It is based on helping kids learn things about farms and farming technics. It is a fun class, and it is beneficial, it is a dream come true. I often work with cows, donkeys, pigs and other farm animals. It is something that makes me happy, and is a hobby I enjoy. Second, is the baby calf program that FFA offers. Last is the fun and exciting trips I get to go on. As can be seen, I agree with Poppy's statement. Last year, we planned a trip up to Canada to a big cattle farm. It was one of the best road trips I have ever been on, and I would die to go back. This is why, we was able to see what it was like to live on a big ranch, from the cows, to seeing how feeding them changes and all the time and responsibility a person has to put into having a successful ranch. Seeing how the lifestyles change when having ten cows’ transfers to one-hundred and possibly more. We was lucky enough to go in calving season, so we got to see baby calves, and we even got to pick one out and name it! While we was up there, we helped do some work such as rounding them up, giving them shots and tagging them. Some people may find that to be boring, but for me, it was like first grade field day all over again. As I have stated, the field trips are a once in a lifetime experience, and I cannot wait to go on another
