FD responded to the listed location for a person with an altered mental status. FD arrived to find an alert, bedfast patient with complaint of AMS per family. Pt’s daughter advised that her mother is displaying abnormal signs of AMS, general weakness, and she also has a Hx of COPD, restrictive lung disease, chronic renal failure, pulmonary hypotension with five heart stents. As FD began initial assessment, EMS arrived on scene and care was transferred. FD assisted with loading the patient onto the stretcher and into the ambulance without incident.
