On November 2nd I attended a presentation given by David Eubank, a former U.S Army Special Forces and Ranger Officer, and an alumnus of Texas A&M University. Currently, he is the director for the Free Burma Rangers (FBR), an organization that offers humanitarian aid to those in the Burma, Kurdistan, and Sudan war zone. While FBR has no religious or racial denomination, David himself is a Christian and believes that his being a follower of Jesus is what has led him to organizing FBR. David emphasized the importance of faith, love, and humility when providing aid to others. FBR has 3 rules for those wanting to join: the first is that, whatever one wants to do, they must do it with love in their heart.…

350 word limits Essay Question - Other than your Eagle Scout leadership service project, what service have you provided to your community during your high school years? During my high school years, I have primarily provided service through my participation in the Christiana Care VolunTeen program and through the various clubs that I lead. The Christiana Care VolunTeen program allows young adults to help serve at the hospital in various areas, often exposing teenagers to how a hospital operates. Specifically, I worked in the Outpatient Pharmacy, SurgiCenter, and Pathology/Histology Lab, assisting patients and doctors with their various needs and tasks.…

I lead the meetings and discuss with my chapter what they want to do and what imprint they want to leave on our school as a chapter. Multicultural Club A lot of us have a discourse community that we feel like we belong in. Before reading John Swales essay, I thought a discourse community is a group of people that have shared goals and purposes. But after reading John Swales essay he have made me realize that there is more to a discourse community than only having common goals and purposes but also has its own mechanism that is used mostly for communication and to provide valuable information or a feedback, using a genre(s) especially for a particular jargon, and "A discourse community has a threshold level of members with a suitable degree of relevant content and discourse expertise" (471-473). During my high school career I have been actively involved within my school’s community through Mini-THON, school newspapers, SADD, and part time employment. Mini-THON has been predominant throughout my high school experience; I have been an active member of the Mini-THON committee for the past three years, following the footsteps of my grandparents, Gary and Millie Christ, who served on the Four Diamonds Advisory Board for over two decades. Being a part of this committee includes organizing fundraisers, and preparing and decorating for the annual Mini-THON. These tasks work toward having a special night that honors the Four Diamonds. I decided to do community service that is more diverse than what I did last year. Last year, I did all of my work at the Newport Beach Public Library. This year, I did three events at Pegasus and one event for the Boy Scouts. My events with Pegasus added up to nine hours, and one hour for the Boy Scouts’ yard sale. I had a lot more fun with community service this year, and I feel that I helped more people, rather than just shelving books.…
