Ross and Jerry had poured over Gupta’s personnel file and background investigation. They had contacted the FBI, which had done everyone’s investigation. The agent listed on the investigation document was Lindsey Palomino, someone the agency claimed never existed. In addition, things weren’t adding up in his personnel file, both his personnel file and background investigation showed he had just shown on about ten years ago, he had no personnel information prior to that. Something, which should have been questioned by the FBI investigator, had there actually been one to do the investigation and if the FBI didn’t do this, who did? Lots of questions, no answers for now. They ran contacted the Social Security Administration and all they could …show more content…
“We’ll have to ask the Director for access.” “That’s our only option, “Jerry said, but wondered if it was a good option. Ross contacted the Directors executive assistant and asked for a meeting as soon as possible. Jerry notified Frank of what they had found and that they were heading over to talk to the Director. Ross told Jerry to relay to the Frank that he told them to come right over, that he wanted an update on the investigation, it had been eight days. All three men, Frank, Ross and Jerry arrived at the Directors office at the same time and were quickly escorted in by Carol. Director Healy was waiting for them, he was a hell bent on finding answers, now. The next mission was scheduled to kick off in a few days and as far as he knew they still have nothing. The three men took a seat, two on the couch and one in a chair, the Director took the last available chair. “What have you boys got?” Director Healy asked. He stood staring at it, then dialed in the combination, opened it and pulled out a large folder. He took a deep breath, turned around and walked back. He stood there once again looking at the three men, and then handed the folder to Frank. “Sir, can you run down what we’re going to find in the file?” Jerry asked respectfully. Director Healy wasn’t a happy man, he knew he had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, this could ruin his career. “You’re right I knew about Gupta, but keep in mind I’ve only been here for four years. My predecessor, who was here for almost a decade first caught the discrepancy. The file contains all of the information they could find on him. As you know, he first appeared about ten to eleven years ago, prior to that there is no record on him anyplace, all of that you know.” “Sir, I feel you’re trying to lead us some place, we’d appreciate it is you just got to the point.” Frank told the Director, all three men knew they had the Director by the
