The main idea behind Eysenck 's model is that differences in individuals ' genomes (DNA) create a different level of arousal and sensitivity to stimulation. These differences in genetics and levels of arousal and sensitivity lead to differences in the three primary dimensions of personality: psychoticism, extraversion, and neuroticism (P-E-N). Personality differences in dimensions, in turn, lead to differences in learning, conditioning, perception, and memory. These cognitive-perceptual-learning differences lead to differences in social behaviors such as sociability, criminality, sexual behavior, and creativity. The evidence supports the connection between the central nervous system arousal, personality traits, and especially extraversion–introversion. Cortical arousal refers to how active the brain is at a resting state as well as how sensitive it is to stimulation (Eysenck, 1997; Gale, 1983). Introversion or inhibition can be seen as a way of coping with an aroused and sensitive central nervous system. There are three parts of the nervous system and they are central (CNS), peripheral, and somatic. Without a nervous system, we would have no sensory experiences—no seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling, or feeling. Also we would have no thoughts, memories, or emotions and …show more content…
There are more people dying from suicide than people committing murder. Suicide is a very tragic situation and can be preventable if people watch and pay attention to the risk factors. If people stepped in and help it can reduce the suicide rate and less people would be dying. Suicide does not discriminate towards genders, ages, and ethnicities. There many similarities between people that share certain characteristics. Here are a couple of risk factors for suicide: Depression, substance abuse, and mental disorders. It also includes prior suicide attempt, family history of a mental or substance abuse disorder. Having family history of suicide and violence (physical and sexual). People having guns or other firearms in the home. People who are incarcerated in prison or jail. People who have been or being exposed to others suicidal behavior. For example: family members, peers, or media figures. Researchers say that people who attempt to kill themselves differ from others because of how they think, react to events, and make decisions. There are differences in aspects of memory, attention, planning, and emotion. These differences occur along with disorders like depression, substance use, anxiety, and psychosis. Suicide can sometimes be triggered by losing a person or violence. For us to be able to prevent suicide we have to be able to detect those who are at risk by
