In the article by Richard Bauckham titled the Eyewitnesses in the Gospel of Mark, Richard Bauckham discuss the importance of the eyewitness in the gospel of Mark being more than just oral traditions handed down. It is my attention to summarize, analyze, and evaluate Richard Bauckham argument concerning the eyewitnesses in the gospel of Mark. Summary Richard Bauckham argues in his article Eyewitnesses in the Gospel of Mark; not just the well-known figures such as the disciples and apostles, but also the little-known eyewitnesses are just as important. Richard Bauckham thesis argues the point that the witnesses of the Gospel of Mark not only set the oral tradition but still remain important to Christians today. He furthermore argues that the gospel is more related to the way the eyewitnesses related their stories to the writers of the gospels. Richard Bauckham states that,

It is these eyewitnesses who were there in person that can give an accurate account of what happen. Meaning it did not have to go through three or four people, and lose some of its attestation. For example; when Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jesus Christ she saw He was not there. She saw two angels sitting in the tomb, she turns and then turn back and saw Jesus Standing there.
