Intrinsic motivation is when a person does something because they find it enjoyable. An example of intrinsic motivation could be gardening for oneself. The person is not doing it to sell what they grow, but instead doing it because they enjoy it. Extrinsic motivation is when someone does something because they know they will be rewarded or reinforced for it in some way. An example of this could be a child doing household chores for money or drawing pictures because they will be praised for it. I am motivated in several ways. I work as a certified nursing assistant back home and I am extrinsically motivated to do my job with the money I earn. I also am intrinsically motivated because I love helping older adults and enjoy spending time
