Externalized Behavioral Problems In Early Childhood Education

The article describes the externalized behaviors most often reported by early childhood teachers that prevent teaching and reduce classroom safety. The article explains how mental health consultations help teaching staff, families, programs, and stop, identify, and reduce the number of social and emotional problems in early childhood classrooms. The article has interviews of 20 children who were subsequently expelled from early childhood setting due to behavior problems. The researchers interviewed 20 mental health counselors, 7 with directors of early childhood programs, 5 with teachers, and 2 with parents to learn the cause of inappropriate behaviors.
