External validity of the experiment determines generalizability of the experimental findings in the real world. In other words, it asks a question, if findings of the experiment can be applied in the real world and how successfully can they be applied.
It seems that insuring external validity of the experiment is a quite difficult task due to the ever changing and complex nature of the world.
