When conducting a research on the dynamism of stakeholders and their power in construction projects, Sarah Nash, Ezekiel Chinyio, Rod Gameson, Subashini Suresh came across an interesting observation resulting in a solid list of external stakeholders in construction projects. The research pointed out that external landowners, local communities and businesses in the neighborhoods represented a stronghold in construction projects and therefore had a high or low influence on the final project. The local community however was mentioned as a low impact group and this was maybe due to the fact that some of these communities were not informed of the project until construction work actually started, and such behavior could in fact result in a negative impact on project. Throughout the same research it was discovered that landowners had the highest power on projects as their decision could positively or negatively affect a construction project with objectives that are not agreed by landowners. Surrounding businesses had however a decreasing impact of construction projects as soon as they were informed of the project and this tendency appeared within pre-construction and construction
