a. Describe a situation where you felt you had control over an event in your life. Being able to control my life is important to me because I want to make decision that will help me, not hurt me. When I play video games, I have complete control over what I am doing in the game, and what I’m doing in real life. Another instance where I had control was when I was the coach of a soccer team. The kids followed me and did what I asked. I’m not a control freak, but I always like a little bit of power.

a. According to this personality theory, various states bring happiness (attractiveness, serving others, etc.) Which of your results surprised you? Why? Several results of mine surprised me. My offbeat rating was higher than the rest, and I find that odd. I haven’t ever thought of myself to be an offbeat person. I try to be different than the normal crowd, but not leave it all together. Another thing that surprised me was a low thinking rating. I’ve always tried to think my way through things, but the test says otherwise. I hope that even though I earned a low thought rating, I can still achieve my goals and dreams.
b. Which of your results did not surprise you? Why not? It didn’t surprise me that vital was the second highest number. I feel aligned with the details of that value so it was interesting that the survey found that in me. Vital is being happy to be alive, and I’m elated about how life is every single day. Waking up in the morning feels like everything is going to be good in life. I’ve always known about that trait being part of me.
