Or maybe, I’ll be tempted to spend what I’ve saved every now and then, and land myself in adventures I had never imagined, like I did in 2012. Maybe some unexpected press invites or sponsorships will come my way, or that mysterious uncle will finally appear and leave me a handsome inheritance! I hope Santa knows I’ve been a good girl *looks innocently*

2. Attend TBEX in Canada

TBEX (Travel Bloggers Exchange) is THE event of travel blogging that every serious travel blogger must attend, almost as a right of passage. Unfortunately for me sitting in India, TBEX is always held somewhere halfway across the globe. In the summer of 2013, TBEX will be held in Canada, and I sure as hell hope I’ll be there in person this year instead of following it virtually on Twitter like every other year. Plus, I’d love to stay until autumn and lose myself in the colors of Canada.

3. Experiment with Slow Travel

Earlier this year, I read a blog post by Stephanie on Fast vs. Slow Travel, and it got me thinking. I experience something of a heartbreak each time I leave a place I’ve really loved, and sometimes hopping from one small town to another every 2-3 days can get tiring. In 2013, I would love to take it slow, and spend a month or more when I fall in love with another small town like Ordu in Turkey. That does mean dealing with visa limitations, finances, and the greed to go further and see

There are different types of traveling. We travel for vacationing and sight seeing, we travel because we want to get away from our daily routine, we travel to see our loved ones, to escape cold weather, to escape war and tyrant rulers, to look for a better life. Bedouin in the desert travel looking for water to sustain themselves and their livestock. Many people wish to travel the around the world and meet new places. I would say that the destination you are going to is important, but who you are going with on the trip is crucial. Some people make excellent traveling companions, while others not so much. Two characters that would make great traveling companions would be Montresor from “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe and Arnold Friend from “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been” by Carol Joyce Oates. They would travel to Las Vegas where they would take advantage of vulnerable people.…

If I had the opportunity to go anywhere in the world, it would be the Virgin Islands. The Virgin Islands and Texas are the exact opposite of one another. Texas unlike the Virgin Islands is filled with dead scorched lands. It is very rare one gets a chance to be able to see crystal clear water with all sorts of green exotic vegetation and wildlife. One condition is that if I were to go my family would also go.…

When I came across the opportunity to travel to Europe, I wasn’t going to let it slip away from me. This trip gave me the opportunity to travel to France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, over a nineteen day span. I was excited to go see another part of the world; experience a different culture than what I live in. That trip to Europe was the first time I would be thousands of miles away from home and the longest time away from my parents. The trip began in my beloved Paris.…

Life is full of long desires that we long to fulfill and accomplish; however we rarely have the opportunity to pursue those desires within our given boundaries. Now imagine that you were granted a ticket, a golden ticket to set foot wherever you’ve desired. Gazing around the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, I longed to set foot in El Salvador, my beloved home country again. I desperately yearn to grasp a ticket that satisfied me a spot on the following flight. As a foreigner in the United States, I was unaware of the diversity of races, tongues, and cultures.…
