How Is Hester Prynne Independent Women

In Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter Hester Prynne shows us the true definition of a strong minded independent women. Hester has many realizations throughout this novel, not only about herself, but about others as well. Many women and men can learn lessons from Hester’s actions and history, she teaches us as an audience how to change people's perspective of you just by actions. The love of a mother has no range, which is why Hetser shows a strong demonstration of how mothers should care for their child. This novel has shown us various levels of adversity that Hester and many women today have to go through. It takes a lot for a person to raise a child, be concerned about her outward appearance, believe in God, and still remain positive about things she is supposed to do. No matter what the towns people were saying about Hester and her daughter they maintained a healthy relationship even when Pearl was not acting the best around her peers. Hester had put on the scarlet letter A with no hesitation and walked around with it not caring what anyone was thinking about her.
