In October of 1980 House Member Michael Myers was expelled in office. In 2002 House Member James Traficant of Ohio was expelled (Zelizer). This is a brief history of Expulsion in the United States Senate and House of Representative by the Supreme Court. Throughout history, the government has rarely had the need to make use of expulsion, their greatest form of punishment for Senate or House Members.
