Exprience's Argument About Dog Parks

Decent Essays
In the argument about dog parks for residents with pet dogs, I totally agree that they should be provided with a park for their animals.

I agree because, i dont think a simple walk around the neighborhood is not to much exercise on a daily. Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health. Also another reason would be because according to (ASPCA) "dogs that dont get exercise can act out at home by barking or destroying things at home.

Socializing is important too. If a dog doesn't learn to get along with others, it may attack a strange dog or person. I know this by exprience. When NYC started allowing dogs off-leash parks dog bite reports went from 40,000 to under 4,000 per year. Bad behavior caused by dogs being lonely or poorly

The reasons why Breed Specific Legislation should not exist a dog labeled as “aggressive” or have been known to bite people aren't always the breeds you think. A Labrador retriever has a 13.3% with the most common dog attacks. While a pitbull has a 8.4% chance of attacking according to Chicago injury center. Most dogs are well behaved and a dog may appear dangerous and it is a stereotype. My evidence here shows why Breed Specific Legislation is a stereotyping dogs.…

Don’t Blame the Pit Bull, Blame their Owners Introduction The human race has been trained to coexist, on the other hand, animals of other kinds are not. Pit bulls are their own breed, similar to human beings. They are seeking ways to adapt to their surroundings, and in many cases they have been known to perform acts of aggression in the process. Pit bull attacks are notoriously showcased on national news for the animals aggressive behavior, but what is never mentioned by the media is that humans also have a profound influence on the reported situations.…

According to PETA, “some dogfighters train dogs by forcing them to tread water in pools; run on a treadmill while a caged rabbit, cat, chicken, or other terrified animal is dangled in front of them; or hang on with their jaws while dangling from a chain baited with meat”. some of them include: being forced to tread water, being put on a treadmill with a rabbit, chicken, or cat is dangled in front of them, or hanging on with their jaws while there is meat dangling on the chain. Other tactics to help their dog win are to inject them with steroids, and cut off their ears so other dogs cannot hold on. Another way to encourage aggression is to starve the dogs, keep them penned or chained on a really heavy chain. These dogs have no human contact other than when they are being trained.…

Evidence shows that aggressive Pit Bulls are almost always the products abuse, neglect, or both (Paul Ciampanelli.) Pit Bulls’ bad reputation has been so deeply ingrained in our culture that a kind of racism has been developed against the entire breed. People of society are so quick to judge that they agree with what they believe to be true without looking deeper into the situation. It is true that Pit Bulls, at a point in time, were bred to be used in dog fights. Look at that sentence again if you overlooked the point.…

It is likely to believe dogs, of whom are small and petite, are less likely to be aggressive whilst dogs who are larger and have more muscle structure are easier to get agitated and attack. This belief couldn’t be further from the truth. A study was done back on April 2016 by a private organization known as the American Temperament Test Society, Inc. in which measures how aggressive a dog truly is. The test is pass-fail and is ‘…not a measure of a breed’s aggression, but rather of each dog’s ability to interact with humans, human situations, and the environment (ATTS Breed Statistics Basic Information 1).’ The test subjects are merely volunteers and breeds range from sheepdog to poodles.…

The dogs that were bred for fighting were not aggressive towards humans because they had to be around humans often and the dogs that were aggressive towards humans were killed (Position Statement on Pit Bulls). Most of the pit bulls today are a result of random breeding and have a variety of behaviors. Many factors such as early nutrition and stress levels, housing conditions, and social interactions contribute to how the dog will behave in the future. Laws that ban certain breeds of dogs create the illusion of enhanced public safety. In 2013 president Obama said that dogs of any breed can be aggressive when they are raised to be aggressive (Pitbull Temperament-Is the Aggression All Hype or…

The noise generated in a dog park - both from the owners and their dogs (the bark of a dog can reach 75-100 decibels) can make people stressed and/or unable to sleep. Even in a rural area, the barking of distant dogs can be disrupting, a fact I could back up. A free-romaing dog in a park might attack a person or another dog, and dogs - especially large ones - are powerful and are capable of injuring others. A dog park would also be expensive; the park fencing alone would cost $70,000, and the dog park would take up an acre of land that could be used for housing developments, where dog owners could let their dogs excerise and socialize on the sidewalks.…

As a response to that certain situation, my dog suddenly became so aggressive and tried to bite me. Considering the amount of dogs in the United States, most citizens should find it greatly troubling for our dogs not to have a place to play, socialize, and release energy. The majority of taxpayers wouldn't mind funding dog parks anyways, especially having been informed of the several benefits that not just dogs, but people, receive as well. A dog park would instantly brighten up any city. Sidewalk traffic would quickly be less congested.…

having had dog's my entire life i believe that the benifits of a dog park far outweigh the negative aspects. the arguement set forth by the person against the dog park seems to me to be blown out of preportion. as the person against the park mentioned i do agree that traffic could become a concern. i do not believe that traffic or the park in general would become an issue at night as most people take the family dog during the day, usually during the weekend very rarely during the week if at all. exercise beyond a daily walk is very important for certain types of dogs, some breed,s should only be exercised rarely if at all especially with older dogs.…

I am a dog person myself and a dog park would'nt be such a bad idea in my opinion. Im sure the city can benefit from it financially and it would also bring the community closer together. But i could also see the side of the residents that dont want a dog park. Wether it's the barking, the taxes or the lawsuits. On the side that does not want a dog park, I understand that having one can bring stress to cat owners and also families that have new born babies that might woken up from all the dog barking.…
